There’s something great prowling in the Kenyan countryside, and it snuck in right by us…. thanks to Nafterli’s Car World for the heads up!
The BMW Team traveled through Kenya shooting one epic video of the new One R 1200 GS. The video is not just a great showcase for the bike, but for adventurers who seek the thrill of feeling thundering motorbike power between their legs, Kenya is one of the ultimate destinations. Dusty savannas little shops tucked into corners in the middle of nowhere, soggy riverbeds, rocky cliffs and tented camps, Kenya is the perfect choice for adventure and adrenalin.
I cannot claim to know anything about motoring, let alone bikes, so read this from Ultimate Motorcycling.
For over 30 years, the “BMW GS” concept has stood for sheer riding pleasure and a thirst for adventure. This is particularly true for the GS motorcycles with boxer engines. The “big GS” bikes can be used to discover the most remote corners of our world – and have already provided many travellers with a trusty mount for their world tour.
To mark the launch of the new R 1200 GS, the motorcycle that the fans of the legendary 2-cylinder touring enduros are already dying to see, the Bavarian brand is sending one of the new models on a very unusual world tour of five continents before the official market launch, from New Zealand, via Laos/Asia, Botswana and South Africa, New Mexico/USA and back to Europe. The new R 1200 GS will be ridden by five of its fans for the first time. These people will then have the opportunity to discover the new R 1200 GS for themselves on one of the five stages of the trip, taking the memory of a unique experience back home with them.
Applications will be accepted from the date on the world premiere at Intermot on 2 October 2012. The closing date for entries is 30 November 2012.
