Cupcakes are little slices… no, rephrase that, little mounds of heaven that make the world a better place. Every Sunday often finds me baking something or the other…
To quote a few:
“A Great Cupcakes makes daily living easier, less hurried, with fewer tensions and more tolerance.”
“One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: that word is Cupcakes.”
“Life is uncertain. Eat Cupcakes first.”
You get the drift, right?
I relish the part of my day where I settle into the couch with a good book or a good movie, and slowly, bit by bit, crumb by crumb, eat each delicious morsel of a cupcake. I die a little each time, and come up for air again from that sweet, creamy sweetness.
First though, you have to make the cupcake…. Let’s get that bit out of the way.
The easiest, quick way to make cupcakes is to get store bought mix and you’ll skip most of the measuring steps.
And so yes, I cheated and bought boxes and boxes of cake mix. **hangs head**
So, follow the instructions on the box, and you’ll have delicious, warm, fluffy cupcakes in no time.
To decorate, I use either icing sugar or store bought frosting… yes, I cheated again. But they manufacture these things for a reason, right? Then add some sprinkles and voila! Yum!!! Enjoy… here are a few pictures of some cupcakes. My favorite was a weird combination of strawberry mix and blueberry muffin mix.
Play around too.. I made mini cupcakes and put them on skewers. Perfect cupcake lollies to give to kids, and to avoid sticky fingers! You can serve them on a spoon too for a light, bite-sized dessert. And I loved photographing them so much!
Next time, we’ll bake them from scratch. For now, lemme enjoy this little scrumptious one… As Mae West said, “I generally avoid temptation unless I can’t resist it”
